Winnie’s Kids Shivembe Project: A Gift of Education
My Hazelwood Family,
For the past 16 years, you have been giving an annual gift of education to children at a small rural school in Kenya (Shivembe Primary School). I take this gift on your behalf every summer when I visit the school. During each trip, I also visit other schools, an orphanage, and a women’s group. Your gift provides school uniforms to students whose families are not able to provide, school supplies, pain relieving medicine, and sanitary pads for the older girls. The women’s group usually gets a monetary donation to support their orphaned kids. Hazelwood, because of your support, the small school and the women’s group are thriving.
This summer, I will be traveling to Kenya in June. Thank you for your continued support. Hazelwood, you make a difference!
Be Blessed.
Winnie
During the month of April, and continuing through June 2, Hazelwood is accepting donations to help Winnie’s Kids in Kenya. Each donation received will be matched, up to a total of $1,000 from the Missions & Benevolence Sulanke Trust. Click HERE to make a donation via Givelify (after entering the amount you would like to donate, select “other” and type “Winnie’s Kids” in the message box). We will present Winnie with our offering during worship on Sunday, June 9. There are great needs in Kenya, so please prayerfully consider how you can help Winnie’s Kids.
UPDATE 1:
On Sunday, June 9, Rev. Eric presented Winnie with a check for $12,300 for her annual trip to Kenya. Winnie came forward with her thanks and deep appreciation for such a wonderful gift, reminding us of the many ways this helps the kids in Kenya.
