Maundy Thursday Service
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
(John 13:34)
Join us on Thursday, April 2, at 7pm for the Maundy Thursday service. The service will be a combination of the events that happened on Thursday and Friday during the passion of Christ: A holy washing of hands, and communion, followed by a representation of the crucifixion of Jesus with a Tenebrae (Shadows) or extinguishing of the lights, which dates back to the fourth century.

Opening Words (in unison)
At your mystical supper, Christ of God, today receive me:
for I will not speak of the mystery to your enemies;
I will not give you a kiss like Judas;
but, like the thief, I will acknowledge you;
remember me, Lord, when you come into your reign.

God, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Today, you shall be with me in paradise.
Mother, this is your child.
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
I thirst.
It is finished.
Abba, into your hands, I commend my spirit.
