Hazelwood Walkers

Join us as we come together to enjoy a time of fellowship, light exercise, and the beauty of God’s creation!

The Hazelwood Walkers meet every Thursday morning, as weather permits, during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Each walk is unique; our journey may take us around the Ball State campus, through downtown Muncie, across the grounds of Minnetrista, or through a local neighborhood. We would love for you to join us and bring a friend!

Take a look at some highlights from past walks:

August 15, 2024: Minnetrista has various points of interest. We began at the Wheeling Avenue side and saw what vegetables were being grown as well how the orchards were progressing. Always a delightful place to visit!

July 25, 2024: “Flower Power” evolved to be the theme of this neighborhood walk. Many plants are now at their vivid best, so below are several to enjoy.

June 13, 2024: “Bridge-to-Bridge-to-Bridge” was the name given to our recent ramble. Below are pictures and locations of those bridges as well as a couple more sites’ sights.

May 30, 2024: “North by North Street” was the theme of this walk. Although we didn’t see Cary Grant, we did spot interesting plants along the way. Below are several highlights.

October 13, 2023: Our walk was titled, “How A-Door-Able” and featured interesting doors and door handles of Downtown buildings. Next time you walk the vicinity, see if you notice any other unique ones to add to the collection!

September 22, 2023: Oakhurst was a pleasant place to visit. Leaves are beginning to fall (it’s newly Fall, after all!), but enough flowers are still blooming to delight the eye.

August 4, 2023: Our themed walk was “BSU H2O” and featured campus fountains and waterfalls.

July 28, 2023: Our “Statue Walk” took us from Minnetrista to Downtown Muncie.
